I currently specialize in Tinnitus (ringing of the ears),
Chronic Illness, Depression, Anxiety, Fears, and Phobias.
Chronic illnesses include; Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS),
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFIDS), Fibromyalgia, and
Environmental Illness. I also speak at schools, conferences,
conventions, and seminars throughout the year on the
aforementioned issues.
With over 10 years experience, I have to come to believe that
the most effective way to help you to achieve your goal(s) is
to use a blend of traditional psychotherapies and focusing
techniques. I utilize regression therapy, PARTS therapy,
cognitive behavioral intervention, and an overall
client-centered approach.
My goal is to help you find the emotional causes of current
issues of concern. Once we find those problems together, then
we desensitize those issues, gain insight, and help make
positive cognitive changes.
My qualifications include my masters degree in clinical social
work from Fordham University as well as my status as a New York
State licensed psychotherapist. I received my first
certification in hypnotherapy from the Wellness Institute,
Washington. I then pursued advanced certification as a clinical
hypnotherapist from the Minnesota Institute of Hypnosis and
Hypnotherapy where I studied individually with Dr. Kevin Hogan,
author and expert in working with chronic illness, with an
emphasis on tinnitus, receiving certification as a tinnitus
specialist. I utilize Dr. Hogan's model of CARPeTS therapy to
help my clients find relief.
My hope is that The Harwood Group will continue to grow as
an effective resource where people suffering from chronic
illness, fears, anxiety, stress, fears, and phobias can come to
get well.
"Jennifer's workshop was interesting, informative, and
entertaining. She explained how to deal with clients with
chronic illness in an easy to understand, step-by-step format.
She is warm, friendly, and easy to talk to. Her knowledge in
the area of treating clients with chronic illness is
phenomenal."
